Confused (F26) by guy (M28)

So I met this guy on a dating app just over a month ago and he lives a couple hours distance away from me. He pretty much immediately suggested coming down to see me, just wasn't sure when he'd be able to as he had a few expenses coming up. Now we've had some really interesting conversations and found out that we have a quite a few things in common. We've been talking pretty regularly over the last month, but he leaves me on read a lot and sometimes doesn't get in touch for days which annoys me because if you were really interested in someone you'd want to know how they're doing surely? He's giving me a lot of mixed signals, like he'll say he wants to do x y and z together, and he said he's been working every Saturday the last month doing over time which leads me to think he's saving up money to come down. But then the inconsistency with the messaging leads me to think otherwise. He's supposed to come down next weekend, and I'm supposed to show him around as I live in the capital. I'm just a bit confused at this stage as to what he really wants from me. I have a pretty active social life and would attend a lot of events whereas he said his friends are shit at that kind of stuff so he's relying on me, so I don't know if this is his way of saying he'd want to see each other again or he just wants someone to go to events with. He definitely came across as someone who was trying to play it super cool in the beginning, now I'm not sure if he's just really not that bothered.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
