/u/-Solidwater on Trying to figure myself out

Nope, asexuality is about sexual attraction. You sound like a sex-repulsed allo June 30, 2021 at 12:06AM

/u/parker_camilla1 on Boyfriend just came out

My husband is actually one of the only people I’ve ever felt sexual attraction for. I have strong feelings for him that way. But I’ve only felt it briefly once before. I more “came out” to him as a way for both of us to open a conversation about our sexualities. He’s quite literally the opposite of me in the sense that he would enjoy an open sexual relationship, but doesn’t want to do it unless I would also like to participate (and I wouldn’t). But now I understand that I’m not interested because of my sexuality, and not because I think it’s morally wrong or something. It’s helped us understand each other a little better, even if we are total opposites. June 30, 2021 at 12:02AM

/u/justobsolete on Question for my fellow female body parts having Aces

You absolutely don't have to try anything you're uncomfortable with, but I just have to mention that the odds of getting TSS are extremely rare: about 0.003%. It pretty much only occurs in cases where people have managed to forget the tampon is in there for a couple of weeks. June 30, 2021 at 12:01AM

/u/the_wyandotte on Greek mythology had ace representation. Apart from Artemis there was Daphne who turned herself in to a tree rather than give in to Apollo (statue by Bernini).

Yeah, that is the same as the version I read then. Cupid/Eros shot them because Apollo had made a joke about how he was just a foolish boy and shouldn't have arrows. But Daphne is her Greek name, it translates to Laurel but that name is Greek. June 30, 2021 at 12:00AM

/u/anonymousartist13 on I’m not ace, quick question about an ace friend of my boyfriend looking at sexual photos of him and I

Uh yeah, that’s illegal. You guys are minors, in the court of law she’s an adult. You can press charges for this, I don’t know what charge exactly. I think it’s sexual assault, child endangerment, explicit something, or just somewhere on the lines of pedophilia. June 30, 2021 at 12:00AM

/u/justobsolete on Question for my fellow female body parts having Aces

I'm not "female bodied" but I highly prefer using birth control to not have a period. Second to that, I prefer tampons. They honestly never bothered my sex or touch repulsion at all. Just way less messy (especially at night - I move around a lot in my sleep) and way easier and nicer since I work out a lot and pads tend to get sweaty and not stick as well. Plus, I was in competitive gymnastics - there's very little room to hide anything with a leotard. If I'd known about them before I went on bc, I would've tried period panties. Also seems useful. Pads are pretty much bottom of the list for me, though. Don't like the feeling, find them uncomfortable, and always having to worry about leakage and how I'm situated. June 29, 2021 at 11:59PM

Pads bc I had primary vaginismus. I got treatment for it, so now I can use tampons sometimes, which makes me happy because I can use them to swim on my periods now! Also “female” doctor appointments hurt less now :). I did do pelvic floor and dilator therapy but tbh I never felt it was… sexual? It’s just like. A body part. That hurt sometimes, so I did exercise for it. I would listen to podcasts during my PT a lot, (don’t think most would find the magnus archives and sawbones at all steamy tbh, it was no more painful or “exciting” than moderate yoga tbh.) /u/anonymousartist13 on I’m not ace, quick question about an ace friend of my boyfriend looking at sexual photos of him and I

Asexuals can be curious, but this beyond curiosity. This disgusting and wrong, no matter if she’s ace or not. This is possibility a humiliation tactic to amuse herself, and she took your boyfriend’s friendship for it. Absolutely gross… June 29, 2021 at 11:56PM

/u/jerlich06 on Did anyone else become "more asexual" after discovering they were actually asexual?

I just came out today! Yessss I have this exact experience. Forced myself to have a hookup a year to keep up normal st8 girl appearance. I’m done denying it. I fucking hate sex. June 29, 2021 at 11:56PM

/u/AndroidwithAnxiety on What even is the main disourse about this?

I think of it as the 'where do we draw the line' idea. Slippery Slope Fallacy??? In short, it's the misbelief that if an arbitrary line isn't consciously drawn somewhere and then enforced, people will genuinely start identifying as attack helicopters, and that it will be harmful.... for some reason / that if conscious effort isn't made, society will implode into degeneracy because people are incapable of self-regulation or something. It's the 'if we stop arresting people for being gay, then they'll want to get married, and if they can get married then they'll want children and if they can have children they'll-' panic but repackaged. It's Homophobia: Episode (I've lost track) Season Can We Stop Now Please? And we all know homophobia is repackaged misogyny so... There's also the added fear of ridicule by association. It's the same reason some gay and lesbian folk turn against bisexuals, why some binary trans people don't ...
