"Am I asexual with a romantic attraction to men (what would that even be called?!) or just traumatised. Or can you be asexual due to trauma as well?" You don't mention your gender, but that would be called either heteroromantic asexual or homoromantic asexual depending on how you identify. The concept of sexual orientation, and especially asexuality, is still evolving. There's no official definitions that consistently used by everyone. It's really up to each person to determine what they identify as. If you feel like the term asexual fits you, then it's entirely valid to consider yourself asexual. If it feels more correct to think of yourself as just straight or gay but suffering from trauma, then that's also completely valid. It's fine if you want to consider yourself questioning. It's fine if you want to identify under the broader queer umbrella which includes asexuality but also includes any other form of abnormal sexual response. It's fi

Also, romantic attraction to the same gender is called Homoromanticism. And attraction to the opposite gender is called Hetoromanticism. March 05, 2021 at 11:24PM

Answering the easy question first, yes, asexual with a romantic attraction to men is a thing. Heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic and so on. If you never or rarely feel sexual attraction, then you are ace. Is it from the trauma, or would you have been ace even without the trauma? No one knows. If asexuality matches your identity right now, then use it. If things change later in your life and it no longer feels like the right identity, that’s OK. March 05, 2021 at 11:23PM

I have honestly no idea, but either way, it doesn't matter. Asexuality is about not experiencing sexual attraction, and not about if you we're born or became one from abuse. If you do really think that you don't experience it, then your Ace. And no one can tell you otherwise. (Also, I'm really bad with words, but I'm extremely sorry for what happened to you. It really grinds my gears that some people can be such monsters.) March 05, 2021 at 11:22PM
