so i (f21) work with this guy m(22). We’re acquaintances/kinda friends but we’d never hung out before. He started sharing a lot of music with me and we talked about movies and we had a lot in common. So several guys I've been talking to have all pulled this phrase out and... I absolutely hate it. For reference I'm 30F and I meet guys who are either a couple of years younger than me, my age, or approximately up to 5 years older. I feel like it's a lazy way to get someone to open up and the lack of effort just turns me off, especially when my dating profile is full of things to talk about. Does anyone else feel the same way? Fate/Stay-night, at least the original game. Though it's not a euphemism. It's the literal way they transfer mana from person to person. In the first anime, they changed it to being skin contact to transfer mana, and dropped it entirely in later entries in the franchise. It wouldn't surprise me if other media uses it in a more euphemistic way, but in Fate it's definitely just how things are done in that universe and is largely incidental, since they were able to remove those two scenes when they released the anime.
