As someone who went most my life not knowing I was grey-ace, I can relate to this. I didn't know anything about the ace spectrum so I just thought something was wrong with me most of my life. I honestly thought I was just not a very good heterosexual. I lacked the vocabulary and it caused me to never consider myself as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Yup, I've been through the skin prick tests. Had to go for a week without antihistamines first so that wasn't fun. Learned useful stuff though. They also have a version where they take a needle and inject a bubble of the stuff being tested under your skin in increasing amounts. Painful, but gives a better level of accuracy.
