/u/Cyanide-Cynic on This is what an ace transgirl looks like

Because they might not live in the US where we have massive risk of pathogens. European countries can typically leave theirs out. October 21, 2020 at 11:57PM

Yes because menopause occurs due to a lack of a sex hormone (in this case estrogen). October 21, 2020 at 11:55PM

/u/boredwithopinions on My girlfriend confided in me that she is asexual, how do I proceed?

Yep. Just like me who only sleeps with people I like as people and hold respect for. Exactly. October 21, 2020 at 11:55PM

/u/OGLAGOLD on Middle-aged aces exist, here's one. ^_^

OOohh so cool!!! Also, it's so awesome to see another mermaid lover here!!! October 21, 2020 at 11:54PM

/u/HaveARaveAtMyGrave on About LGBTQIA+

Don’t forget about 2 spirit lol, we use the acronym in Canada as LGBTQ2+ now October 21, 2020 at 11:54PM

/u/AmIAThrowAwayAccount on About LGBTQIA+

Personally I prefer GRSM because it is more inclusive and has a lot less snowball potential than LGBTQIA+. October 21, 2020 at 11:53PM

/u/Occasionally_Sober1 on My aunt says I’m to young to be asexual

I’m sorry your aunt was so dismissive of you. You are asexual right now but it’s also worth considering that you might not be forever either. I remember freshman year of high school (age 14-15). Half of my friends still thought boys were icky. By junior year all of them were boy crazy. As for me, I was convinced I was a lesbian because I knew I didn’t like boys. I didn’t know asexuality was a thing so I figured “what else could I be?” Now I know. Give yourself time. Meanwhile, be true to who you are right now today. I hope your aunt can respect that. /u/NoSource4300 on Questioning about being ace

Okay, thank you so much! October 21, 2020 at 11:50PM

/u/Wow_so_rpg on I've known I'm ace for like 10 years but my mother still doesn't take me seriously.

I’m not opposed to confrontation so this may not be the approach you want but if it’s bugging you enough to not want to see her, then I’d tell her that and say you’re not going to until she can respect your sexuality and stop making those comments. It’s not the end of the world if someone doesn’t understand and you can’t make them understand, but purposefully and willfully ignoring your requests for her to stop mentioning boyfriends to the point where you don’t want to visit would be reason enough for me to stop going. /u/EndMeAndMySuffering on First job I’ve ever applied to that has asexual as an option (and a shout out to the pan option as well)

I think it’s because it’s the more common terms that are used. I can think of a few straight people that don’t know what heterosexual means. October 21, 2020 at 11:42PM

/u/Aquamayne1 on First job I’ve ever applied to that has asexual as an option (and a shout out to the pan option as well)

That's very odd as it's completely irrelevant. October 21, 2020 at 11:42PM

/u/EndMeAndMySuffering on First job I’ve ever applied to that has asexual as an option (and a shout out to the pan option as well)

Don’t worry, I posted this thinking nothing of it and got a massive culture shock myself when everyone started freaking out. I find it quite refreshing because the rest of the application requires research and stress so it’s a nice break answering questions I know the answers to. I can’t speak for the rest of the UK but it makes sense to me because I know how the data is being used and I know it’s not for nefarious means, so I don’t really think twice about it. Now the stupid re-entering stuff from your CV, that’s something I understand and completely agree with why do employers do that? It’s so frustrating. October 21, 2020 at 11:41PM

/u/cabandon on First job I’ve ever applied to that has asexual as an option (and a shout out to the pan option as well)

why didn’t they jus say homosexual and heterosexual instead of gay/lesbian and straight? It went formal to informal rapidly. But i’m glad this was inclusive!! October 21, 2020 at 11:40PM

Daamn. I feel stupid for accusing everything weird on reddit to be american, sorry for that. But still, I'm having a culture shock about this. Do britts find it normal that employers ask for sexuality or is it something that everyone agrees to be dumb i.e. like having to write your CV and re-enter all the same info to the application? This is the UK where it’s normal. I think it might be a legal requirement to ask here but I’m not sure, but it’s definitely not illegal and most company’s ask this October 21, 2020 at 11:31PM

/u/Dalashas on This is what an asexual person looks like. not out yet so this is my picture lol

/u/CazzyBearx on Feeling out of touch with my fem side

I guess I would say it's important because I feel in myself that I am. I love being a girl, but I love the freedom to branch out from the stereotype too. I absolutely agree with you on my language, it's just a muddled mess in my head. I feel like I'm torn between how I feel, how I was raised to feel, and how necessity made me feel (with being the income provider). I did recent get my hair done, I've bought myself new clothes, I'm getting a Lil nose ring next week. I just still don't feel like 'myself' I think. October 21, 2020 at 11:30PM
