/u/Stressed_but_trying on Do you hate it when people say that?

Too real! I've lost count of how many times I've had sex out of a desire for connection/attention from a distant partner or a fear of abandonment. May 02, 2021 at 11:57PM

We call them boys incels, and they ain't you folk. May 02, 2021 at 11:57PM

/u/Bytemite on I stumbled upon this post. Its from 7 years ago and the comments are.. bad.

Oh, fair, I wasn't even thinking about rhizomes, I pretty much assumed that anyone who was bringing up plants was in the "magnets, how do they work" category of deep thought. Someone who's all like "plants, they just sit there, guess they're asexual." May 02, 2021 at 11:57PM

/u/bmanisawesome on So I think we might have a problem...

i feel like its a reach lol for me i dont really care it doesn't bother me but i get how someone else would be upset May 02, 2021 at 11:57PM

And sensual. Because when you feel both toward a person it is REAL difficult to separate it from being demi or Allo. May 02, 2021 at 11:56PM

/u/Penn251 on Alright, how do you identify

Depends; are we talking about our personal relationship with sex, or our ideas about sex in general? For example, I'm sex-repulsed when it comes to the thought of myself being involved in it at all, but otherwise fine with sex. May 02, 2021 at 11:55PM

/u/Bytemite on I love fictional characters but I hate fan "shippings"

I usually follow the adage of don't like, don't read, which it seems you do as well. I like very certain ships, in the sense that it allows me to get a view into people's thoughts on something that is generally very foreign to me, but I also am usually more uncomfortable with M-rated stories than anything else. That said, if there is one inevitability in this world, it is that someone, somewhere, will write or draw smut about something. I think what I'm far more uncomfortable with are when the main ships in some story are underage - sure, maybe sometimes the authors are teenagers which makes it more understandable, but in some of the bigger fandoms the more well known writers definitely aren't. It's one thing to read m/m slash a het pairing when the focus characters are in their thirties, I suppose when characters are older and more mature their relationships seem "safer" to me. /u/Koala-Annual on My (25m) girlfriend (26f) wants me to keep my sexuality private and I want to be proud about it

You shouldn't need to keep your pride a secret. We need representation. Just think, how long did you go before you realized asexuality was a thing? For me it was almost 30 years. May 02, 2021 at 11:53PM

/u/Ace_Glorfindel on Hi! I’m kinda new to reddit, I don’t know much about it except that you guys exist!

Welcome! I like it here too. I feel so at home in this sub, and I hope you do as well! May 02, 2021 at 11:52PM

/u/Ace_Glorfindel on I think I’m asexual, but lately don’t feel particularly proud or happy about it.

You seem like you could use a spiritual hug. A couple of things to consider: No one can win with sex. Pretty much everyone gets called either prude, slut, or pathetic by someone with a different sexual history at some point. There’s no way to have an amount of sex that will gain everyone’s respect. So... it’s kind of pointless to try and sex it up for other people. Don’t worry about impressing anyone else or being laughed at, because someone will always be doing that. This is one of the things that makes me feel odd when people talk about sex as “experience,” because it makes it sound like people who don’t have sex are immature or that people who have lots of sex are wiser. It doesn’t work that way. And there’s nothing cringe about sexual history, whether a person’s slept with no one or 100+ folks. Cringe is for the dog that gets stuck in a fence, not for someone’s love life! Being asexual has nothing to do with sexual attractiveNESS or history. If you don’t want to have sex wi

/u/Hand-Similar on Do’s and dont’s of dating an asexual person?

That’s a good point about waiting a little bit before jumping into the sexual boundaries and stuff, I will definitely do that. May 02, 2021 at 11:48PM

That's not even getting into the fact that rhizomes are genetic copies and not "plant children" like seeds are, making the asexual reproduction argument even dumber. Unless they're fans of cuz nuzzling they probably don't wanna bring that up at all. People really do need to just chill tf out and not bother people about words if they're not gonna use them right either. May 02, 2021 at 11:43PM

/u/ValeWeber2 on Do you hate it when people say that?

People who say that go around having sex all the time and are still sad. Not so important after all, is it? May 02, 2021 at 11:40PM

The funny thing is that anyone who's go to is plants doesn't understand botany at all, let alone anything else about the conversation. Meanwhile the northern hemisphere is currently enduring the yearly weird plant orgy, with all the pollen allergies that come with it. May 02, 2021 at 11:39PM

/u/freelanceisart on Do you hate it when people say that?

See, the thing is that I was In my 30s before I realized I was ace and made a lot of poor decisions trying to figure out what I was all about and seeking companionship, so… anyone who says that can fuck all the way off. May 02, 2021 at 11:37PM
