/u/kyokichii on Aro/ace theme songs?

Maybe more Aro than Ace specifically, but "Good Thing" by Zedd & Kehlani is a total Aro Anthem. July 05, 2021 at 12:05AM

/u/CelikBas on When Jesus is more likely to have been gay than asexual

I’m pretty sure being the son/earthly incarnation of an omnipotent being had more to do with Jesus’ powers than faith. The only way he doesn’t count as a demigod is via technicality with the thing about him being both entirely human and entirely divine. In all other respects- one mortal and one divine parent, possessing powers beyond those of other mortals, performing impossible feats, ascending to godhood himself following his death- he’s textbook demigod. As for the magic stuff, it’s entirely semantic. The Bible likes to differentiate between miracles and magic, but aside from one being considered good and the other considered bad, they’re functionally the same. Transforming physical matter into another type of matter, conjuring objects out of thin air, curing injuries and illnesses with a single touch, raising the dead and placing curses on trees are supernatural abilities that violate the laws of physics are the same kinds of things sorcerers and wizards do in plenty of other st

/u/parker_camilla1 on Fellow Aces/Aros, if nobody talked about/introduced you to sex and/or romance, would you have believed it was normal?

I honestly ask myself this a lot. My husband and I were just talking about the fact that if my ex didn’t initiate a sexual relationship with me, I might not have ever thought about sex as a whole. It’s an odd realization. Thankfully I am sex favorable, so it’s not like it was a traumatic experience for me, but it’s definitely jarring to realize that I’ve never thought of anyone in a sexual way unless they bring it up first. It’s like, “oh yeah, I forgot that’s a thing” lol July 05, 2021 at 12:02AM

/u/UniverseBear on I like being teased, but I don't feel anything when my gf touches me

I'm the same way but I'm a guy. July 05, 2021 at 12:00AM

/u/kyokichii on How do you come out to people?

I work in construction so my coworkers just know I'm "not interested in relationships or any of that" and let them make their own assumptions from there. They can think I'm a lesbian or just promiscuous, I'm not responsible for their mental image of me. I'm just not gonna waste energy trying to explain the nuance to them because in construction The Culture is a little... As for with new friends or whatever it's such an ingrained part of who I am that I don't actually think to mention it or anything unless someone asks me about a partner or whatever then I'm usually stumbling over my words because I temporarily forget that dating and cohabitation is a thing that people even do 🙃 I think your sexuality (or in our case basically the lack of one) is a huge thing that takes up a bunch of mental energy when first discovered but for me at least after knowing I'm aroace for the last decade I forget about it until reddit sends me notifications like

/u/romanator25 on when will people realize that invalidating 'cishet' aces invalidates ALL aces

I like that one too, I guess GSRM also includes the romantic but SAGA I would assume would apply with them too July 04, 2021 at 11:57PM

/u/Landmark520 on when will people realize that invalidating 'cishet' aces invalidates ALL aces

If we're going to replace "LGBT" with a new acronym I'd prefer "SAGA" (Sexuality And Gender Acceptance) since it would cover everyone without having to add a whole bunch of bulky letters and it's easier to say. July 04, 2021 at 11:54PM

/u/DancingQueen_only17 on labelling help

U could be biromantic demi-homosexual/demi-heterosexual (idk what ur gender identity is so it would be depending on how u identify gender wise) July 04, 2021 at 11:54PM

/u/faithliesinme on I found the black ring I want. Now I just need to be able to afford it!

My Reddit is telling me you messaged me, but I don't see a message? Is it just glitching? July 04, 2021 at 11:47PM

/u/sweet-baby-memer on Okay got negative attention at first and to be fair I didn’t lead off with positive so I added a title page! This is a asexual pride post!

I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Sometimes the people we think we can trust happen to be un-informed and immature in the moments we need them. I hope they have taken the time to better themselves and research their preconceived biases to gain a better understanding of their world. And if not I hope you find a steady and validating support system! July 04, 2021 at 11:44PM

/u/crunchsaffron9 on Realizing I’m ace after marrying an allo

I was taught sex is a sin unless it's in a marriage. But it's hard mentally to have it be taboo one day and okay the next day. And for the record, i no longer attend any church and I'm agnostic July 04, 2021 at 11:42PM

/u/-Failedhuman on When Jesus is more likely to have been gay than asexual

Well yes he was God, but he was human. Difficult to explain, but he was both. He was God in human form, so he had no Godly power so therefore was purely human. Faith was the only thing he needed to perform miracles, so he was just a man with faith technically "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains" Take that as miracles or surpassing usually huge obstacles, I think it works either way July 04, 2021 at 11:42PM

/u/bubbles2360 on Touch starved

I’m the same with some people. Some it’s like “no plz give me my bloody space already” and for others it’s just “no plz invade my bloody space as much as you want” lmao July 04, 2021 at 11:41PM

/u/notmypinkbeard on Thoughts on prostitution?

Not at all. I can understand someone choosing to sell sex better than I can understand someone wanting to buy it. July 04, 2021 at 11:38PM

/u/Nerddess on When Jesus is more likely to have been gay than asexual

He was 100% human but also 100%. A theological conundrum that some bozo on the internet won't be able to explain or disprove, but that's the core of Christian belief. He wasn't just a man with faith. He was a man who was ALSO GOD. July 04, 2021 at 11:37PM

/u/miriepure on when will people realize that invalidating 'cishet' aces invalidates ALL aces

I think intersex people are included within sexual minorities (not because of sexual orientation but because of bodily sex) July 04, 2021 at 11:36PM

/u/-Failedhuman on When Jesus is more likely to have been gay than asexual

I totally agree, people will read whatever they wish into anything, not just the bible. It can be dangerous. The Bible is quite literal and very straightforward, it has to be for any kind of person to understand. Its when people start adding extras to it, creating their own narrative and twisting it to fit what they want is when it becomes something other than the bible. The basics are to love all of God's creations, teach God's word, bring people to God through Jesus, know what Jesus did and believe, and baptise them into Christ. Really those are the key things. Everything else really is a guide book for after you're a Christian. Once you're a Christian that means that nothing is above God, you leave all your earthly desires behind you and anything you feel or think outside of God is not of God. I'm not very good at explaining things, but if you're a true Christian and truly want to know God's word, you won't need to twist it to personally gain anythin
