When Marnie Was There, Howl's Moving Castle, and The Borrowers immediately come to mind for easily accessible English-language source material. Ignoring Tales of Earthsea because the movie was so far diverged from the spirit of the original series. Highly recommend Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, it was well worth the trouble for me to locate English copies.
