/u/CaughttheDarkness on Do you see comments like „you‘re so hot“ as compliments?

I don’t like being complimented for my appearance very much, but I do like being complimented for the elements of it that I have control over - e.g. clothes, hair, etc. Exception for people saying my eyes are cool. August 02, 2022 at 11:26PM

/u/peach_doll on Do you see comments like „you‘re so hot“ as compliments?

No, comments like that are gross and at best do nothing for me and at worst offend and repulse me. I don't understand the desire to be "sexy" or the idea that it's something everyone wants to be. Also unwarranted comments about another person's body is just disrespectful usually. Keep your gross sexual thoughts far away from me. August 02, 2022 at 11:24PM

Yup that’s my experience of Asexuality. Was always engaging in self pleasure from 13 until 18 now when I started HRT. A real life sexual experience sounds horrifying to me but I’m aroused by creating a fictional scenario in my head using unrealistic erotica material to craft it with faceless imagined characters. My experience specifically fits under r/Aegosexuals August 02, 2022 at 11:21PM

/u/llaepsjnnum on What are some really "ace" things you've thought/said?

/u/OkPudding2493 on Arousal from Aesthetic Attraction and where I fit in

"sexual" arousal, yet within that arousal, there is no desire for sex, sexual touching, kissing, or anything else of a sexual nature. I'm having a hard time understanding what sexual arousal without a desire for sexual things means. August 02, 2022 at 11:19PM

Currently 22. Up until i learned about asexuality recently i always tought i was bisexual because when others talked about their crushes and who they found attractive i thought about men and women the same way. But i could never imagine me dating a man. Turns out im heteroromantic asexual and the only reason i thought about them the same was because i didnt feel sexual attraction to any of them. Thanks for your comments its nice to know others have similiar experiences. August 02, 2022 at 11:18PM
