I relate as well. I was wholesomely shoved In the closet without even coming out a few weeks ago by my mother saying that in your age, it's normal for you to be repulsed. Me and your aunt were just like you. It hurt. A lot. But hey, at least I know that she supports me no matter what even though she ended up shoving me into the closet horribly. We just got engaged, been together 13yrs already. The idea of a day where all the attention is focused on us sounds like our personal hell. My mom passed recently which would’ve been the driving force in having a wedding (for her). We have good friends that have known us throughout the years which would be interesting to get everyone together. I guess. But I’d rather just elope & spend that money on a really nice honeymoon somewhere. I honestly don’t see the point in weddings. Especially ones that cost 10s of thousands of dollars.
