We’ve been on this topic since yesterday and according to him white privilege doesn’t exist and I understand he thinks this way because he grew up in a very close minded area. I’ve talked to him about this topic for hours and tried explaining him multiple ways POC don’t have that reviled he like other white people have, yet he says that systemic racism isn’t a thing and that white privilege hasn’t done anything for him and that he grew up poor and he never had white privilege. He also said that I have never been oppressed or a victim of systemic racism. I told him that having a white privilege is a disadvantage to POCs but it’s not a bad thing. People don’t get to choose this privilege and they are born with it, but according to him it is offensive to say that white people have privilege because they don’t. Hey everyone, I’m not looking for any sympathy, much worse things are going on the world. Does anyone have any advice for dealing with loneliness? I’m a 25m who broke up with a long term partner about a year ago. I spent the year travelling and having a lot of fun. But now I am back in my hometown, and I am longing for a partner to spend my time with. I’m really beginning to miss having someone to come home to after work.
