I asian (20F) just broke up with my white bf (21M) of 11 months over disagreements on oppression and white privilege

We’ve been on this topic since yesterday and according to him white privilege doesn’t exist and I understand he thinks this way because he grew up in a very close minded area. I’ve talked to him about this topic for hours and tried explaining him multiple ways POC don’t have that reviled he like other white people have, yet he says that systemic racism isn’t a thing and that white privilege hasn’t done anything for him and that he grew up poor and he never had white privilege. He also said that I have never been oppressed or a victim of systemic racism. I told him that having a white privilege is a disadvantage to POCs but it’s not a bad thing. People don’t get to choose this privilege and they are born with it, but according to him it is offensive to say that white people have privilege because they don’t. So I broke up with him today because of this disagreement. We had this conversation during the summer where we stood with the same believes and I told him to try and understand that white privilege stems from the deep rooted racism and that it is a real thing and he told me that he understands, but clearly we still disagree on it. I love him a lot but a topic like this is very important to me since this is something I identify with so I told him that I don’t want him to forcefully change his opinions for me and for the sake of this relationship and that it is best if we break up right now rather than pushing this under the table again and having a big argument after years of dating. Idk if I made the right decision.
