I [26F] am confused on how to move forward with him [26M]

I [26F] have been hanging out with a guy [26M] for about 6 weeks. We're really compatible. We're both fresh out of relationships but his is more recent, I broke up late 2019 and he broke up just 5 or 6 months ago. It's been a lot of fun and I haven't thought too much about the future. He mentioned to me early on that he wanted to move away but he hadn't brought it up since. I never cared because I was getting to know him and figured anything could happen (I could not like him, he could decide not to leave or leave later) etc. etc. Throughout the weeks, he told me he wanted to see where this goes, told me how much he likes me, invited me on a trip (I didn't go - thought it was too soon / was also tired) and a wedding in December. This past weekend, I overheard him tell my brother that he was for sure moving. I know he told me this on our first date but I thought it was so insensitive that he was telling this to my brother right next to me. I ended up bringing ...

My boyfriend seems to like seeking attention from other women

My (24) boyfriend (26) loves to be the center of attention, making other people jealous of him, being admired, and better than other people. We've been together for three years so I've accepted this part of his personality and I love him regardless. He came from clinicals (nursing students practicing on actual patients) today and one of the first things he said is that one of his classmates said he looks like Tarzan after he let his hair down. I got upset because I thought he let his hair down to get attention from females. I'm fully aware that I may be overreacting, which is why I'm making this post. I don't know if this is something that I have the right to be mad about. For some context, he has gorgeous long curly hair and I gas him up all the time. He absolutely hates the feeling of hair on his neck so he always wears it in a bun. Even a ponytail irks him because he can feel hair on his neck. I have to beg him to wear his hair down. In the past, he's made...

My best friend who is a SAHM might be an alcoholic!

A good friend of mine (27f) might be an alcoholic, or at least is traveling down that path, but I don’t know how to talk to her about it. I know to expect denial and possibly anger, but I want her to know that I am not criticizing or judging her, only that I am concerned. She is a full time stay at home mom and her husband will be deploying soon. She has started home schooling recently, while simultaneously taking care of an infant. She has many other responsibilities burdening her and I can tell that she is extremely stressed. Whenever she comes over to our house we usually have wine, but lately she has been drinking to the point of intoxication. Last night she was drinking with her husband until 5 in the morning. While it’s very possible that she may not be an alcoholic, the binge drinking is extremely concerning. The last time she was over we had to take the baby from her. I don’t mind caring for her or her baby, but I just don’t know if she realizes how dangerous this is, or that ...

Am I crazy or is my girlfriend’s behaviour around my friend wierd

TL;DR I get jealous when my girlfriend is around this particular friend of my because of the actions in the past and I don’t know if I am being crazy or not So I have been with this girl for around 3+ years now. Things are okay but I just can’t seem this feeling of jealousy every time she is in front of one of my friends. I never have that when she is around my 2 best friends but this other friend and my gfs behaviour makes things weird for me. This friend is married with a kid btw. It started on my birthday last year, I was ticked off my the fact that on my birthday while she was next to me she kept asking my where is your friend (that friend) and your other friend. Even though she has seen my best-friend more she would name this first friend first and she would go to find them. There was also this time when they were talking for around 15 minutes in my room. I asked her why is this and she said at parties I want to make sure everyone is okay. But why would she leave from my side a...

I (f30) fell in love for my FWB (m40) but he went back to his ex. Why he didn’t want to be with me ?

The guy (40) I was having casual sex with once a week for four month but know each other for years . He always used to like me but never asked me out directly , he always used to say I’m out of his league . I never considered dating him as he used to have kind of a womanizer reputation so I initiated a hook up. We were having conversations and had fun times, hanging out for a few hrs after sex. He cooked dinners. The chemistry was crazy. It was pretty obvious that we are just hooking up and I once even asked him if he’s going on dates . He once said he’d love to watch a movie together but didn’t really reciprocate. At the beginning all I wanted was just sex and didn’t plant to date him but I started to get attached to him. For the past month or so he started to become distant and pulling away and ignoring me. I asked him to hang out twice and he made excuses that he had to work but he’d love too. I finally confronted him and texted him whats the deal , told him that I really like ...

My brother (30M) ignores me (27F) almost completely for the past 5 years since he got married, and I finally got mad at him for it. Now my mom and rest of the family is mad at *me*? Am I not seeing things correctly??

My older brother and I used to be best friends. But once he got married, his wife told him that he was too close to me and he needed to give some of our relationship up to be with her. So, it’s been 5 years of him slowly pulling away from me, to the point now where he hasn’t initiated a conversation with me in over a year, never responds to my attempts to call, rarely if ever responds back to my texts (has responded three times in this year). I also went through a really terrible abusive relationship about three years ago, and my whole family really rallied around me but he never even reached out, and the one time I reached out to him about it he just told me he didn’t want to talk about my situation because it would be hard to hear. The rest of my family is extremely close (as in we talk several times a week to each other.) The reason I’m writing is, my mom. My mom has communication with me all the time but rarely also speaks to my older brother. So I hear allllll of her thoughts...

Is being comfortable more important than being fulfilled?

Tl;dr we’re realised we have fundamental differences but have a lot of love for each other, should we make it work or continue on in comfort? It’s something I’m currently struggling with. I got married really young (22F he was 31M) and my perspective has changed a lot in the nearly 3 years we’ve been married. He’s a creative, and I work in an offshoot of engineering , I am really passionate about my work and am very determined to climb the ladder for my own goals (non-financial). We’ve been arguing over the same things for the last two years or so, he believes he’s passed his peak in his field but wants to just work at it full time (don’t want to say exactly what field), but financially we’ve been surviving solely off my income for the past two years. For context my role is an apprenticeship so I study PT and work FT, more and more lately I’m finding myself really satisfied with my work life and the personal aspects of my life gym, sport (which he chooses not to engage with me in) a...

I'm [22F] unsure whether to break up with bf [24M] to deal with personal issues.

TL;DR Want to end relationship to work on building sense of self and experience independence Ever since I [22F] was a child I have struggled with autonomy and identity. I'm an only child, and my parents were very overbearing and fearful. I never really had any privacy, and wasn't allowed to do things for myself because everything was 'dangerous'. I wasn't allowed to see friends outside of school really, or even catch a bus until I turned 18. I also was my mother's prime source of emotional support. As a result I lack confidence, a sense of autonomy, and am not very assertive. After moving out of home I moved in with my bf [24M]. We've been together for 3 years and lived together for 2. We have a pretty healthy relationship, and are best friends. He is pretty set in his views and ways however. We live together, but I feel no ownership over the house. Almost everything in the space is his, while I just want to live minimally. When we go on holiday, he does ...

How can I be a better partner when I'm struggling with mental health?

Hi I'm looking for advice - I (20f) have been a relationship with my BF (21m) for 2-3 years now, and he's my best friend, I love him to pieces and I'm so grateful to him. (Apologies in advance for a slightly longer post - I'm new to Reddit. Apparently I should also state that I'm on a mobile) I've struggled with mental health, general anxiety and sadness for years, and while I have come a long, long way from where I used to be, it's still an issue for me. My BF has been great through all this - he hasn't always known how to deal with it, but he's learnt ways to care for me, especially in the last 6 months, and most importantly has been incredibly patient with me through everything. Despite how patient he's been, I do know (and have encouraged him to be honest about) how difficult it can be to deal with the sadness, irritability, negativity, and anxiety that I'm sometimes exhibiting. When I'm in the thick of it, I know I must not be very...

I (20F) feel disconnected from my feelings with my boyfriend (23M) after an assault incident

I've been with my man for a year and a half, and it's been the best year of my life. He absolutely made me a better person and brought out the best of me, I love the me I am with him and most importantly; I love him. However, we had our ups and downs and two months ago I broke up with him. He had been acting toxic for a while, dismissing and ignoring me and I couldn't put up with it anymore. I mean it when I say I was obsessed about him, in love head over heels. He reacted very negatively but thankfully we made up and we are both on the right track now, no toxicity and just caring for eachother. Here's the thing: when we broke up, I got drunk with one of my best friends (21M) and he tried to initiate intimacy. Although I had previously told him I DON'T want any intimacy, and that I am not ready to even think about him that way, he still insisted. Even when I cried because he wouldn't stop forcing himself on me, he briefly reassured me and then continued tryin...

Idk about Stephanie

**TL;DR; :I am (19M) and have been dating this girl Stephanie (24F) for six months. I know I am naive, but I wanted to be together with her forever. She has graduated college, and I went back to school (4 hours from home) this fall. We have grown further apart. **. What bothers me is that we fight a lot and she has graduated college, but does not have much ambition. She works part time right now and still lives with her family, but she is scared to move out. She also cannot come visit me at school because her parents won't let her (Catholic). I love her, but she is far and honestly I have wandering eyes for other people (I'm at college 4 hours away from her) and I don't want to hurt her. Should I wait and see where it goes with her or just end it now? But on the other hand, it would break my heart if I never saw her again. I get anxiety every time I see or hear people talking about relationships, especially men.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post but... I've (21/f) noticed that this started happening last year. I was in a relationship for about 2 months that wasn't good and school was stressing me. This caused my anxiety to start acting up. Every time I listen to podcasts about relationships or see people online make posts about exes and things that ruin relationships I can feel my heart start racing. It's even worse if it's men talking about it. Had to also stop talking to my ex because I would get anxious every time he would text me. If I see a video on youtube that talks about mistakes people make in a relationship or how to know when to break up with someone I can feel it again. It's so bad I have to avoid anything about relationships most of the time. Has anybody experienced this? How can I deal with it? TLDR: Anxiety issues whenever I see/ hear anything that reminds me of a previous relationship. Submitted August 24, 2020 at 12:06AM I...

I [33F] dated my [24M] coworker, who turned out to be a manipulator. Can I keep my job?

This "relationship" started platonic, a 3-month slow burn over the course of working closely together during the pandemic. Recently, we got involved and had a short sexual affair. I developed feelings for him, and suddenly he completely changed - very irritable, critical, and callous. Today we agreed to call it quits, and he insists he wants to preserve our "friendship." I am not looking to win him back. I suspect he has some kind of personality disorder and may be unpredictable. I just need to know how I can navigate working together, as I am afraid he'll try to retaliate somehow and I'd really like to keep this job. I know I fucked up by dating a coworker, but believe me when I say this felt like two completely different people. I wouldn't have gotten involved if I thought he was unstable or cruel in any way. Now I'm freaking out a bit. Any tips for appeasing this sort of person and avoiding some kind of massive blowup? tl;dr : Dated perfectly n...

Overthinking and low confidence can be a deadly combination...

(I decided to type this after just lying in bed trying to sleep for two hours overthinking if you want to imagine it from my perspective…) I’m a 22(M) virgin and I’ve finally realised am in a pretty deep hole at the moment. I believe am I a position where my low confidence has prevented me from speaking to girls or attempting to get a girlfriend due to the fact I’m scared of ‘shooting my shot’ as they would say these days. This can be in positions of where I may be attracted to a girl and don’t have the guts to message/DM them, or even approach them if I was on a night out etc. This can be quite complicated though… as if the roles where switched and a girl was to message me or approach me for example, id have no problem talking but obviously this happens in a blue moon and most times I’ve not been attracted or into the girl. I can’t deny, I’ve had multiple opportunities to speak/pull/have sex with girls on nights out, lads’ holidays and through my friends’ girlfriends’ friends (if t...

M (24) “more than happy to continue what we have been doing” but “I’m not looking for a relationship at the moment”

Hey Guys, TL;DR: a lad who I’ve spoke to for 4 weeks, met up 4 times (weekly), texts me daily, wants to carry on as we are but doesn’t want a relationship? Has he got cold feet or is he not interested? So long version: I matched with a lad on tinder. We hit it off, and had really good chat from the word go. He would reply instantly. We’ve carried on with pretty good texts. He’ll call / FaceTime me a couple of times a week for a few hours at a time (sometimes the whole evening). Our first date was great, we stayed out for ages just talking about deep life issues, and I feel we had a really good natural connection. The next day he invited me round to his house to meet his mom and just have a chill. I went round and it was lovely to relax and have a great connection with someone. Week 2: Text messages continued to be very frequent for the next week, and that weekend we met up again. Weekend 2: We slept together, but he decided not to stay at mine and he went home instead. Week 3:...

My memories of her haunts me life a ghost from the past.

I don't know if this belongs in this sub. However, I really want to get this out of my chest. I am not asking for advice but I one someone to listen/read my story and give me some insight. Memories of my past haunts me until this very day. I think about the times she and I shared together. I guess now that I look at it, in-a-way I guess I am indeed asking for advice on how to try and ease my pain. I am now 30 years-old, I am happily married to a beautiful Filipina wife and a young son. A long time ago, when I migrated here in the US, I was merely 14 years-old when I met E. Freshman high school. At first, I was starstruck when I first saw her. This white girl with dirty-blonde hair, blue-eyes, freckled cheeks, a slender body, and boobs about the size of pomelo. While I was this chubby, insecure foreign kid with a thick Filipino accent. What were my chances right? Comes summer, we had US history class together and she became part of my little study group. She wasn't snub lik...

My (13F) brother (21M) became really conservative and religious in a bad way when he left for College and won't talk to my sister (19F) and he's being really mean to me too but I'm worried if I tell my family they'll stop talking to him again

My family is Jewish and our religion is always important to us but I don't think this isn't really bc of that I don't think bc my family and everyone else I know are really good and accepting of other religions and everyone. the town I live in is almost all Christian and they are the same and no one at my school cares about me being a different religion. And but my brother became really conservative and religious in a bad way when he went to college. And like that's all he ever talks about now. And always argues with are parent about it like whenever he comes home and made them really angry because he's turned it into something really hateful and won't even go with us to are temple anymore bc of them teaching reformed Judaism and them doing interfaith weddings and being okay with gay marriage and a bunch of other stuff that shouldn't matter. But since he came home from COVID/summer break he's gotten better I thought like he stopped talking with my par...

Need help with reading my boyfriends mind...

I just recently made an account, have been reading the thread but not posting. I (23F) and my boyfriend (25m) are having problems. He is really nice to me and super funny and I do like him. I have never gotten along with someone so well and have never met a person as funny as him. We are both the same race but he clearly had a Latina fetish. Between his porn preferences, his history of fucking a Colombian prostitute, and an ex girlfriend/multiple hookups it’s very evident to me I am not his type. He has criticized the way I look in the past but attributes it to being insecure. These comments were made over a year ago and since then he has been very kind to me. I am aware he was trying hard to put on a facade when we first started dating and wanted to come across as tough and has since changed. Apparently i was cold to him when we started seeing each other and he felt he had to bring me down. He hasn’t made any comments in the recent past but instead I find myself getting mad over com...

My (22F) boyfriend (22M) doesn’t want to have sex with me anymore

For background, my boyfriend and I have been together for 3.5 years. We don’t live together but I just graduated and he’s in a 5 year program so he graduates next year. We live about 30 minutes apart now that I’m no longer in college. At the beginning of our relationship, the sex was literally amazing. Multiple times a day and he is really attentive to my body and needs. Over time, the occurrences became less and less, but honestly I wasn’t concerned because the amount changed as we grew as a couple. It was still 1-2 times a week. Since last fall, the frequency decreased to about once a month which was still fine. Now, we haven’t been intimate since January. I automatically blamed myself and convinced myself it had to do with me. I’ve tried to talk to him about it multiple times but he just won’t give me anything to work with. First, he didn’t know why he didn’t want to be intimate, now all he says is he doesn’t want to tell me why..... I just feel like that’s such an immature way to...

I (24F) don’t know how to say no to my sister (25F)

My sister is always asking me for money. I graduated from college May 2019, and started my first full time job about a year ago. I have noticed that since I started, my sister has been asking me for money often. She has a two year old girl and she does not work full time. I don’t think she has worked full time since she was pregnant. Her husband is in college so he does not have a job either. She has had classes for cosmetology and has started to do nails as of lately. The problem is that, anytime she needs food, diapers, or anything random that comes up, she asks me for money. I do not get paid a lot. I get paid $13/hr. I do believe it is partially mine and my mothers fault. Once she for pregnant, she stopped working and my mother gave her our childhood home since she was buying a new house. My mom helped her with bills and expenses. I gave them copy of my card since they live about 12 hours away from me and sometimes my mom would deposit money to help me pay for school. It was easi...
