You’re lucky! I wish I had a sister to live with, I know some people with siblings like that and it seems nice bc it’s like having a lifelong friend. my brother is different from me personality wise and we never talk, it hurts a lot. it’s really special when you have a sibling you can share your life with. And as for friend weddings, it’s not like you can’t throw a big party or something (well.... if it’s ever sort of normal again and everyone can be vaccinated), that’d be like a wedding kind of? And this is just my opinion; but all marriage is/what makes it “official” is that it’s a legal contract. Depending on where you are, copyright changes. In my country, you cannot copyright an idea. If you took that art and made a copy of that art style and used it as the basis for a comic based on this idea, you are stealing the character design, but if you write a book with no images, or you changed the character design and wrote a comic, or you made it I to a live action show with different character designs, you would be fine. I think I am similar to your boyfriend in certain respects, so I'll offer my perspective. However, keep in mind that the whole issue here is people not interpreting and reacting to the world the same, so YMMV. I've noticed from lurking around here there seems to be different asexual subgroups. One archetype is the sex-repulsed aromantic asexual, who can figure out fairly early on that they're not into sex or relationships. On the other side of the spectrum are people like me for whom everything seems fine until they bump up against other people's expectations, which is the first indication that they might be different. That IS awesome. I was actually dreading him moving in because we absolutely did not get along as children and I wasn't positive he'd "grown up" yet.
