But I’m attracted to women? So maybe I’m not asexual February 10, 2021 at 12:03AM

No problem 👍🏼 I'd hunt you down the article where I first read it, but I don't remember the article and it was like six years ago or something ridiculous so it's probably not up anymore, but I know he's in the list of asexual characters on TV Tropes! February 10, 2021 at 12:02AM

OMG. I think you found the right definition. Lithosexual sounds perfect. I love Reddit! Now how can lithisexuals be happy in a relationship? February 09, 2021 at 11:59PM

Also: thinking and enjoying the thought about sexual things does not means you actually want to do that things with someone. All of us have thought about murder at one point and that doesn't mean we are murderers February 09, 2021 at 11:58PM

/u/Destructopoo on Me too, Alexander

My entire sexuality was intrusive. I went to an all male catholic high school. Being unaware that I was Ace, I internalized a whole toxic straight guy thing. I always thought there was something wrong with me because I was always so confused trying to figure out how I felt. Turns out it was all a bunch of expectations that I was taught to have of myself. /u/jalapenohands on Sex Positivity vs Sex Negativity: Why There is No Room for Sex Negativity in Ace or Queer Spaces.

Thank you for bringing this up! I definitely think there’s confusion about what “sex positive” means in other spaces. I first learned about sex positivity from feminist speakers and I would describe myself as sex positive. A sex averse, sex positive asexual. I actually described myself as sex positive in a post and ever since I’ve wondered if that was ever taken to mean something else. Anyway, I have nothing else to add but I think this is a worthy discussion to be had, especially when spaces use similar terms to mean different things. February 09, 2021 at 11:56PM

/u/Koryuusei on I finally replaced my old Ace ring!

I just go to Amazon. Generally, an Ace ring is just a black ring worn on the second finger on the right hand. However, when I found this black ring with a purple band under the silver filigree, it just screamed Ace to me and I wanted it to be my Ace ring. February 09, 2021 at 11:56PM

/u/UnfathomableWonders on Sex Positivity vs Sex Negativity: Why There is No Room for Sex Negativity in Ace or Queer Spaces.

“Sex negativity” was actually feminist criticism of how sex occurs under patriarchy- namely prostitution, pornography, sexualized violence against women in het relationships. It was literally the exact opposite of “puritanical”, and it was vehemently opposed to “Christian marriage”. It sought to imagine what sex for women would look like in a post patriarchal world where no woman was subject to coercion, compulsory heterosexuality, sexually violent media such as pornography, etc. No one ever actually identified as this, the term exists purely as a pejorative. Painting this analysis as “anti queer” is particularly rich considering that its foremost thinkers were (and are) mostly lesbians. Speaking of which: “Sex positive” feminism historically emerged as a backlash against this analysis because some straight women wanted to reassure men that we didn’t really want to hurt their fee fees by talking critically about our sexual experiences and what they meant for women politically. /u/Thornescape on How do you feel about the Progress flag save Ace inclusion?

I love how the queer community took back that label. Fantastic. The problem with having "left out" communities represented is that there is always going to be another community left out. It's impossible to represent them all in a list format, especially when our understanding keeps changing. I mean, with that being said, they are using a bloody list format, and therefore they are choosing to leave people out. I just hope that if they change it, it's not by perpetuating the "list" format, you know? We can do better. February 09, 2021 at 11:44PM

I'm definitely no expert but it sounds like you might be asexual....Does it really matter what group or category you fit in? Just be you and do what feels right to you. February 09, 2021 at 11:43PM

I would, but you should never ever accept money from strangers on the internet. It's almost always a scam, identity theft, or part of a money laundering scheme. Safety first: don't accept or transfer money from or to strangers, and don't give out personal or banking info to strangers. February 09, 2021 at 11:40PM
