/u/JadedElk on Honestly, even IM confused. It's understandable that they're like this. Them, like me, are also new to the whole me being ace thing. What's the most effective way to deal with it without being rude?

Oh, the greek gods often took on minor deiities that locals believed in and went "That? Nonono, the god in Delphi isn't some earth goddess but" rummages in hat "Apollo! And Helios? The guy who pulls the sun across the sky?" more hat rummaging "Also Apollo! Now, these people here are talking about a moon goddess. We have a moon goddess. Hey, hey, do you think, maybe. That your moon goddess, could instead be our moon goddess? Because we're going to force you to pay tribute to our goddess anyways, so. You might as well. And we'll be telling your stories aaaaallll across our culture, spreading them with the trade in peacetime and telling them to the people we conquer during war times, it'll be great :)" February 17, 2021 at 12:01AM

Aces have been around for longer than this prick has. Aces have been around for longer than the current understanding of psychology has. Aces have been around since literally the time the ancient Greek myths were written. (Hestia, Athena and Artemis all abstained from taking any lovers, even when most of their peers took multiple (except maybe Artemis that one time she accidentally subsumed a moon goddess who's only claim to fame was... mooning over a guy. And then having him be struck comatose and having a bunch of children with him but that aside) ) February 16, 2021 at 11:54PM

If I dont need to spend time getting horny, I can spend more time on petting dogs!! February 16, 2021 at 11:54PM

/u/blackaradia on Noooooo

Pretty sure the point of this meme is not that grandpa JoJo is aroace. He represents the expression of the person making the meme. Sorry for explaining the joke if that was already clear. February 16, 2021 at 11:54PM

I've already wasted too much oxygen that at this point my body has mutated just for this purpose. February 16, 2021 at 11:53PM

First of all my friends are still in highschool (including me). Secondly the specific person who told me that it was kind of a disability isnt really interested in medicine. Also them telling me that I think that "the creation of life is disgusting" is like stupid. It's not like they can read my brain theyre just making really stupid assumptions. And lastly, weve had many enough arguments and disagreements about this already that I dont feel sane anymore and my head aches all the time. Thanks to you, people like you, and this subreddit I feel safe, so thank you! :DD February 16, 2021 at 11:51PM

/u/ttrrraway on Is it valid to enjoy/spend money on strippers or Karaoke girls?

How did you find asexual friends in real life? Any tips appreciated. February 16, 2021 at 11:50PM

/u/Biengo on Funny moments when you realized something you do is very asexual

As far as clothing goes I have to settings. Button up with a sweater or graphic tee and big button hoodie. Majority colors are black, purple, and grey, or plaids... I just thing there neat and comfy. February 16, 2021 at 11:49PM

/u/JQShepard on I thought I'd share :)

Maybe check out r/rational ? It's a sub for fiction in which the characters and world building are, well, rational, and the focus is typically on problem solving rather than romance/emotion. You will occasionally see romance pop up but it is very far from being the main focus. February 16, 2021 at 11:47PM

/u/blackaradia on I made a meme about being lithro because I'm lithro!

I thought I was romantically interested in this guy in college so I got drunk and asked him out (cuz anxiety) but he said no. Outwardly my feelings were hurt cause I’m a total catch but on the inside it was more like “oh thank god” I don’t know if I genuinely had romantic feels though or if I thought I was supposed to because he was nice to me, relatively handsome, and had interesting hobbies. I should really use analogies when arguing, to be fair tho I'm not good at analogies so I most likely will be using one from here. Also when my friend told me that asexuality was kind of a disability, I got really hurt. I just couldnt tell them because I was scared. This comment section really makes me feel safe, this whole subreddit makes me feel safe. Knowing that if my friends are acting like this, atleast theres a space for me to feel like I'm normal. /u/allo100 on 27 years of Ace relationship...

Being fraysexual, how do you maintain a relationship? I saw a OP about a week ago who realized he was fraysexual. He was so upset and frustrated since he wanted a relationship but since he stopped being attracted to someone once they took an internet in him. How can fraysexuals foster and develop a relationship when the attraction fades? February 16, 2021 at 11:44PM

Yep, it does feel like bashing my head on the wall. But I've already bashed the wall plenty times. We've already had like disagreements on this, I'm losing energy quickly, and my anger is getting worse. That's why I turned to this sub, because I know people like you would help me. I view it as a superpower, not a disability. If there were people that could function perfectly, with no tradeoffs without sleep, would you also consider them disabled? Probably not, they'd be able to get so much more out of life, at the minor expense of not really understanding why people love sleep so much. Similarly, by not being distracted by sexual attraction, I get so much more out of life, even if people find me weird and I am confused by their need for that feeling. February 16, 2021 at 11:41PM

/u/Rightboy91 on This is what a true Asexual looks like , 29 never so much as held hands, not kissed, forever a virgin

You are surely retarded in the head. People who have sex are sexually active /driven,. The definition of Asexuals ( me ) means a person with no sexual Interests therefore does not engage in sexual activity February 16, 2021 at 11:40PM

/u/NovelInteresting on How much can someone ask you about your sexuality without making you uncomfortable.

For me I'm more willing to open up as I see how willing you are to understand. It's way more exhausting answering questions that question my validity rather than ones that express where you don't understand. February 16, 2021 at 11:40PM

They surely wont want that can of worms, especially that a lot of the group is either bi/pan. Come to think about it during that night I was talking to the straights (except the one that talked about the spouse thing, they were bisexual) February 16, 2021 at 11:39PM

/u/Lys_ge on I’m confused on how relationships work for Acearos

Through my skimming and my attempts to explain my identity to my friends, I've gathered that bring AroAce is very specific to the individual especially in regards to how they view relationships. Some AroAces don't have gender preferences, some enter romantic/sexual relationships and others don't enter any relationships including Queerplatonic. For me my alterous, aesthetic and sensual attraction to men is REALLY strong but for women it's all completely platonic. In a Queerplatonic Relationship I would like to cuddle and fall asleep together. I would not do that with a girl, for me that type of stuff goes past my definition of platonic friendship. This is why I label myself as a Oriented AroAce because my other attractions that aren't romantic or sexual are stronger for men than women. And I desire to be in a Queerplatonic Relationship with a man. So for me, gender is definitely a factor. This may not be the case for others. Hope this helps :) February 16,
