For years I just thought my libido was broken, since i kept comparing between us. I feel kind of sorry for him? What a terrible state to constantly live in.. April 17, 2021 at 11:57PM

Ahh. That makes sense. This whole MAP situation with pedos trying to claim they belong in a community is sick. It’s not an orientation, it’s a mental condition. April 17, 2021 at 11:57PM

You don't understand the meme, or am I not understanding your comment? The OP of the post on r/memes is against calling pedophilia a sexuality, that's why they are portraying sniping the person saying that. April 17, 2021 at 11:55PM

/u/eppiesky on How do you adapt a mindset that you ARE indeed normal?

How do you adapt a mindset that you ARE indeed normal? Maybe you should explore what you think is normal and then look at what actually exists. I get what you’re saying, but your perception does not match reality, and maybe that’s a sign that you need to broaden your perspective. Culture decides that something is normal, but biology often says otherwise. “Biology enables, culture forbids.” - Yuval Noah Harari. Reality is, there are people who do not find sex especially appealing and can call themselves asexual. May not be ‘normal’ in some cultures but it exists in them, absolutely. Would you rather be yourself or play pretend? Can’t control who you are and what you’re not into. April 17, 2021 at 11:54PM

I’m in the same situation. My partner could also have sex everyday. I do not understand how allos are not exhausted by constantly feeling that way. April 17, 2021 at 11:53PM

It was apparently just a typo. They meant "a sexuality" with a space April 17, 2021 at 11:53PM

I think they are just saying that you c a n be attracted to like aesthetics and romance and stuff, but you don't necessarily automatically like those if you are ace April 17, 2021 at 11:52PM

Yeah, I had roommates that couldn’t understand it. They thought that being Ace=gay. I don’t know how April 17, 2021 at 11:51PM

/u/Hrathcie on Visibility is so important

I talk about it often but rarely about myself because I still get feelings for people and I don’t want people to assume I’m completely uninterested in them April 17, 2021 at 11:49PM

Also, the fact that I forced myself to have crushes and now I can’t tell the difference between romantic and platonic attraction, is because I didn’t know what aromantic was. April 17, 2021 at 11:33PM

I didn't even know asexuality existed until my late 30s. Maybe I saw that episode of House and never thought about it. Talking about it is good. Normalization is good. April 17, 2021 at 11:32PM

It’s a paraphilia than a kink technically, but I do agree what you mean! Meanwhile this argument reminds me of a debate my colleagues and I had a couple of years ago. I told them that pedophilia can be controlled but cannot be “cured” - as it is nearly impossible to change one’s sexual attraction while some cases of pedophilia are rooted as sexual attraction than power dynamic. And one of my colleagues, who is gay, accused me of homophobia because “how can you say pedophilia is similar to someone attracted to the same sex?!” Oh that’s the guy who said he could fix me if I was never ever sexually attracted to him. clap April 17, 2021 at 11:30PM

/u/ehrenschnitzelsam on Why Don’t People See Aces as LGBT?

The LGBTQIA+ community is literally a community for all the sexual and gender minorities and asexual IS a minority. So idk why people are gatekeeping. Thats not the point of the community April 17, 2021 at 11:30PM

/u/Dee_Buttersnaps on I don't need or want your pity

There was someone on an ace-related post on a non-ace related sub who made a comment about her asexual sister and how truly sorry she felt for her - for every asexual, really, because they'll never "feel what I feel," or "taste what I taste," when it comes to sex or whatever. Nvm the fact that her sister has a boyfriend and a baby. I was direct but polite in my response telling her why she has no business feeling sorry for anyone, but I really wanted to tell her to go fuck herself. She was patronizing as hell. /u/Thick_Astronomer on Have y'all read this book about eroticism and asexuality? I am reading it right now and it's discussing asexuality and compulsory sexuality in the context I haven't encountered much.

Note: the link will take you to download pdf of the book from .edu website The book name is 'Asexual Erotics: Intimate Readings of Compulsory Sexuality' by Ela Przybylo April 17, 2021 at 11:20PM
