Hi people of reddit, ive never post anything personal life related but since I saw many successful stories here, I thought it's worth the try. So here's my story : (sorry it's gonna be super long since I bottled everything up since 2021) Ive starter to work at this new lab (PhD student) in late 2021 and ive had the biggest crush on this guy that we'll call R. A little context about me and R before. R is a super Smart/nerdy guy, super funny (like really hilarious and not because of my crush on him), gamer, 0% shallowness, super cute (but objectively not conventionally handsome). Me, on the other hand, (with really genuine modesty) i'm percieved as conventionally attractive and also, I really take care about my appearance so I may give this "superficial" vibe. It changes for me depending on the context, even with my partner. I identify as demisexual, as I need a previous connection to have sex with someone. But talking about sex or hearing people talk about it when I'm not mentally prepared (for example, someone making a sexual joke out of the blue just for fun) makes me really tense and uncomfortable. Hi, I know this sounds stupid, but I want to start a relationship with someone from a different country. About 2 months ago I visited London for the first time to visit some family (relatively distant). On my way back to the airport (via a train), I happened to bump into a really sweet girl who seemed slightly lost like me. When we got off the train, I opened up the conversation with her. Not one minute has passed, and just when I was about to ask her her name, she asked for my number. Holy shit. First time I ever got asked for my number, I was excited as hell. We saw each other off (different airlines) and continued texting for just a bit afterwards. She said she'll be staying in England studying at uni for the next 4 years. Now I'm really excited to meet her at some point, but there's a few problems. I'm afraid of appearing desperate travelling all the way from the middle east to England for her.
