I had to fire my therapist for this too. Well, there were a few reasons but her insistence that I was only asexual because of trauma in my past was one of those reasons January 12, 2021 at 11:44PM

That really sucks. My therapist was also pretty surprised when I told; she obviously had no idea what asexuality is. She told me maybe it was hormones or some chemical imbalance. But after having explained it to her a couple of times I think she understands. But your therapist is obviously rigid in their beliefs so best to find another. I'm glad you came to the conclusion that you need a new therapist because that's exactly what I was going to suggest. Reminds me of a therapist I saw (for not very long!) who told me it was "weird" I had body image issues/anxiety/OCD and hadn't been abused. As in "no way you can have those things without abuse." Drop therapists that make you feel bad or uncomfortable! There's so many great people out there. You might be able to look for one that specifically says they deal with LGBTQIA+ issues. Yes. If you feel comfortable with the asexual label, then yes, you can still be asexual and enjoy porn. Asexuality is a very broad spectrum, there are many micro-labels that you can identify with while still being asexual. January 12, 2021 at 11:37PM

Thank you so much for the comments, reassurance and advice. Unfortunately I’m no longer in the school, I’m part of the class of 2020. After we left my friend and I drafted up an email about how the school handled LGBTQ+ education in the future, addressing matters like safe same-sex sex, differences between bi, pan and omni, Allonormativity, why representation is important, and how to tell whether it’s safe or not to come out and advice on how to do so. We sent it to the deputy head teacher and he was happy to listen to what we had to say... then he left the school. Since then we haven’t heard anything and we no longer have any contact with the school 🙄 January 12, 2021 at 11:37PM
