Is passionate love a common thing?

Hello follow lovers of Reddit, I had an interesting conversation with my husband recently. We were discussing passion and it’s place in our relationship. He is very dry when it comes to interaction and affection where as I’m more intense and passionate with my interactions. I can’t help but to show my appreciation this way. I am ALWAYS like this. He never objected, and I asked him why he never reciprocates. Is he just not attracted to me in that way. He just said, “I’m not like that, in fact most people aren’t like that, and That only exists in movies, books, and fairytales.” In my past relationships I have been this way also, and I rarely saw passionate love. So now I’m wondering, is passionate love rare, does it only exist in the movies. Do you believe passion varies from person to person, do you believe it can be encouraged out. Any comments on this is welcomed.
