My date today was memorable, fun, and casual and I wish that was more common.

I went on a date today with a girl that I’ve gone on dates with about 4 other times over the past year. We haven’t seen each other that much partially because we live about an hour and a half apart and also because there are a few other things that would make it hard to have a long term relationship, but I enjoy spending time with her. We went to a bar that was having a Cinco de Mayo party and then went to a park and drank some beer and then to a restaurant. Even though it’s not serious between us, it felt so good. I have been pretty lonely lately and it feels so good to spend some quality time with someone; joking and flirting and exploring the city together. It’s so much better than it would’ve been for me to stay at home and watch Netflix on my laptop, which is what I probably would’ve done if I hadn’t hung out with her. Even if you’re not super crazy about somebody, I feel like it’s typically more engaging and fulfilling to spend quality time with someone rather than spend it alone (as long as both people are on the same page and you’re not leading them on).
