Woman at work I'm interested in

To make a long story short, I'm getting back into dating after a ltr that ended a month ago.

There's a woman at work I've always thought was attractive but I never talked with. She works in a different department of our company and we dont run in the same circles except for one old coworker. He said, before he left, she was a really nice woman and would be easy to approach. Only problem is I've never had a relationship with a coworker and I've also been away from dating for awhile.

Any advice on how to approach this woman? We've been at the same company for about a year and a half and I'm pretty sure shes single. I feel really foolish asking this but I dont want to fuck up and have to see each other at work every day afterwards. Any advice would be appreciated.
