Wife is getting emotional stressed , upset and sad about salary difference and income.

Sorry if bad english since it isnt my native language.

Recently in my job my boss quit because he wanted to retire and the following two guys that should be promoted one quit and the other one got a better Job offer abroad , so i got promoted two steps up from my area , now i have a better income and salary than her ( Shes a Doctor and have a great Salary and Income. She always brag that with friends and family and make the joke i live off her). When i told her i expected she would be happy for me and us , but she was not . When my first paycheck come and i told her she told me i was being arrogant and started bitching about salary gaps between men and woman, she gets mad when i told friends and family about my promotion and that my economy is getting better . Shes starting to be more hours in the hospital and taking more shifts. I dont know why shes mad that i make more than her now and is really getting me worried because she seems stressed to take more shifts to make more money.

EDIT : I havent bragged or say the "haha i make more than you , you live off me now" never. When she made those jokes in the past i was OK with them and i didnt get mad. I dont know why she gets mad when im not bullyng her with this , when i told here about this i treated like good news FOR BOTH OF US, like "Honey now we can have a better Van or Car for both of us" or "maybe this summer we should go to a fancy Hotel and enjoy a luxury weekend". I dont know whats getting her mad about who makes more and i tough she would be happy since this is important and a Goal for me and it will improve our life. But shes taking it in the other way and trying to compete with me while theres no competition.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
