Did the date go well?

This is sort of a mix between “online dating” and “I need advice”. (TL;DR at the bottom)

Edit: Heterosexual date, I’m a female.

Here’s the lowdown: I’ve only ever been in one relationship and it started with a 2 month sort of friendship-talking-going on date mix. Today I had my first ever “planned first date” with someone I met online, but I’m a little conflicted. Even connecting online was actually an accident (long story) and actually unintended.

(Note: both college seniors)

He was really sweet and funny. We have a crap ton in common (including a good deal of views, hobbies, and interests), but still different majors / career objectives (he’s media arts, I’m healthcare). He’s also soft spoken (which is important to me, coming from an argumentative household) and very honest and open.

My worries: - I’m a fairly introverted individual, but I’m loud and talkative so I don’t always seem like it. Therefore, I’ve always been surrounded by more energetic individuals who can bring me out of my shell. - I also didn’t really feel a lot of sparks while we were together. I definitely knew that we seemed to gel well at least on a friend level (and think we could do well as friends) but I didn’t feel amazingly attracted. I mean he was - Visually and somewhat demeanor wise, he sort of reminds me of a guy I have a really messy past with and low opinion of - He seemed really eager and assumptive right away that we would be continuing to see each other for a little while.

TL;DR: First date today seems like he should be really good for me, albeit a little more eager and introverted than I usually go, but I didn’t feel a lot of “spark”.
