Platonic vs Romantic Love ?

How do you know that your love for someone is now romantic and not just platonic anymore? How can you differentiate or identify the two in your feelings?

I’m dating this girl who I’ve known since high school. I’ve always loved her and cared for her as a friend since we first became really close friends. Fast forward and now we’re both in our second year of university and developed feelings for one another and have now been dating for around a month and a half. She is honestly the most beautiful person and the more we get comfortable around each other and learn more about one another, the more I feel myself falling for her. I do sometimes say i love you to her but mostly in a joking/annoying way or a quick “ily” on text. And I mean, I still love her and care about her but now I actually feel myself falling in love with her romantically. I know I’m not there yet like not fully in love with her yet but I don’t know when that day will come. And most importantly, I don’t know how I’ll figure out that it’s Romantic love and not just Platonic love that I’m feeling anymore.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
