What could have happened with these two girls I met?

I was traveling around with a friend and we met these two girls at a hostel. They stayed up all night with my friend basically having a girl's night and the next morning my friend tells me both of them found me cute, and they told her at different moments

Ok then, they were both cute but I gravitated more towards one, let's call her A, so I focused on her when we all went out together the next day. At first we were talking a bit but slowly she started drifting off, while the other one, let's call her B, seemed more willing to talk and ask me questions, but I was focused on A

At one point B got scared by a stray dog and grabbed on hold to me, still didn't make anything of it since I was focused on A. At night, me and my friend were gonna buy some dinner and I invited A to come along. She said sure, but a minute later I see her talking with B and then tells me she'll stay with her. The 3 or 4 times we ate together I sat next to A and barely had my eye on B. At some point my teasing of A began to even be ignored, and it happened a bit after B stayed behind on one of our trips but I went along cause A was going

So did I just screw up here? Seems like I picked the wrong girl to pursue, even though our personalities seemed to match better. A talked to me first too, several tines, when we met so it felt natural
