Is this going somewhere or should I move on?

I've (F18) know my crush (M17) for 2 years. For the first year we always seen each other in person, this past year has been all texting. Last year he had told me he'd loved me and I didn't say it back. He pushed me away. We started talking after 4 months in February, and now I'm at the point where I'm pretty sure I'm close to loving him. I don't plan on just throwing the words at him. I want to hangout with him but he hates leaving his house. I don't want to jump into anything, just kind of want to see each other again and go from there. Would it be too much to ask him to hangout with me? And if it doesn't work would it be unreasonable to stop being friends with him?
