I met a great guy who I really really liked and he reciprocated. We would go on dates, I met his friends, he told his family about me. We got to base 2. His relationship hx, he was with his high school sweetheart for 5 years. They went through college together And she dumped him after he moved for his job. Whenever we would go on dates and I did something that reminded him of his ex he’d mention it. I investigated on FB and I resemble his ex, we have similar features! He said they even reconnected after a year of not talking. Then he asked what I wanted outta a relationship I told him a long term relationship, I’m looking for something my parents had who have been together for 30+years. He said he wanted a long term relationship also. We were making out, talking really heavy stuff and I told him I’m a virgin. I asked him if it’s a deal breaker, he not at all. We made a plan to see each other on the weekend. Friday he texts me and says. I really really like you and respect you but where at different points in our life. He doesn’t mind reconnecting in the future and even staying friends in the process and hoping I’d understand. I thanked him for his maturity and honesty, that I didn’t mind being just friends. Ever since he started to post stories on Snapchat which he didnt do before we broke up. And hasn’t texted me or snapchetted me. I guess I just don’t understand how could a guy really really like someone but chose not to date them?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
