Excerpt 2 from my love story novel (currently in progress)

He stopped and turned to admire the lake. It was a rare calm day. The lake looked like glass, only small ripples broke its surface. The gentle lapping was the only sounds he heard, except for the occasional eagle. He was amazed at the beauty of it all.

He noticed a slight movement at the edge of a group of rocks leading out into the water. A line flew out. Then it was slowly, but expertly, pulled back in. It was a fisherman’s line. And it was Anwa on the rocks.

His heart thumped in his chest and his palms began to sweat. Interesting, Nath thought, that I would have such a physical response to this woman.

He controlled his movements deliberately. He wanted to run over to her, hug her and say hi, but he knew that was inappropriate and would most probably scare her away too. So, he slowed his footsteps and sauntered over very casually.

She turned her head and waved with a friendly nod, but her eyes looked deeply into his, just for the briefest of moments. “Nath! Hi! Come, I can show you some fishing.” She patted the seat beside her, which was a flat large rock. “Be careful, the rocks can be slippery.”

Nathan walked onto the rocks and she looked up and again their eyes locked deeply. “Hi, Anwa. It is very nice meeting you again. I wanted to thank you for taking Jonasson to Winnipeg. With this loan, we can prosper.”

“No problem at all, Nath. It was my pleasure. Now sit.” She patted the rock again.

He took the offered seat and felt her warmth emanate from her. He caught a drift of that musky woman smell again. It made him smile.

“What are you smiling about?” Anwa laughed.

“Nothing, nothing,” Nath replied. “Show me how to catch these elusive lake fish.”

“The best fish here are called pickerel. We will try to catch some today.” She stood and handed him the rod. “Okay, you hold it like this.” She gripped his hands around the handle. Her sensual electricity shot through his hands and sent warm sensations throughout his body. He wanted to hug her and pull her close. But he did nothing of the sort. He followed her hands and held the fishing rod as instructed. He watched her eyes light up as she spoke of where to catch the fish, what fish is the best tasting, what each fish looks like, some roundish, some long and what time of day is best to catch fish.

“Early morning is best around these rocks. The lake is so calm in the mornings and the fish venture closer to shore when the sun rises,” she commented, motioned with her hands as if encompassing the entire lake.

“You love this,” He motioned with his hands.

“Yes, I do,” she replied. “The lake is in my blood. I was born here on this land and I feel part of the sea, too.” Her brown eyes sparkled with knowledge and passion.

“I have a question,” Nath asked. “What does your name mean? Anwaatin, right?”

“Yes, my full name is Anwaatin. It means IT IS CALM.”

“That is very sweet,” he replied.

“And your name?” she asked.

“Nathanael means HE GAVE,” he replied.

“Interesting, so as in a giving person?”

“Yes.”

She smiled sweetly.

He wanted to kiss her.

She immediately looked away, shyly.

“Why do you do that?” he asked.

“Do what?”

“Run away, look away, when I want to kiss you,” he replied.

She smiled and looked down. “Because I have never kissed a man before,” she replied. She darted a glance at him, then looked down again. “And I like you, Nath.”

Nath put the rod in his right hand and fluttered his fingers towards her chin. “You would be alright if I kissed you then,” he politely insinuated.

“Yes,” she continued looking down.

He lifted her chin. “You have beautiful eyes. You have a smouldering passion in your eyes. Its mesmerizing,” he said.

She looked up at him, her eyes locking into his. And without another word, their lips met. She was moist and soft, her lips full and gentle. She instinctively opened her mouth and Nath fluttered his tongue at her opening. He kissed her lips softly again, then felt his tongue dart out into her mouth briefly again, tasting her honey mouth. He felt his groin harden quickly and uncomfortably. He shifted to the side, trying to adjust himself.

She felt his uncomfortableness and broke the kiss. She looked down and saw the lump in his pants. “Does it hurt?” she asked.

He laughed. “No, it doesn’t hurt, just uncomfortable.”

“Why does it do this when you get close to me?”

“Because I have a very beautiful woman in my arms and my body notices,” he replied.

“Why does your body do this?”

He grinned. “Hmm, I’m not sure how to answer that in a gentlemanly way.”

“Please answer. I won’t be offended.”

“Well, a man’s penis hardens to get ready for sex. I believe it can’t enter a vagina otherwise. Although, I’m not 100% certain on that,” Nath answered.

“Why are you not certain?” she asked.

“Because I have not experienced sex yet,” he replied.

“Oh,” she paused. “I have never had sex either,” she said. Anwa gazed across the lake, thoughtfully. “Although, I’ve dreamed of having sex in the bushes. Many times.”

His penis hardened fully. His head felt light. Then the fishing rod tugged in his right hand. He was momentarily stunned, not sure what was going on. His brain was in his pants.

To be continued...
