Monday-morning QB my first date in years

Me: 39M pastey white guy. Her: 32F Moroccan (olive skin, brown eyes, beautiful). We used to work together.

We set this up about a week ago. I picked her up at her place, brought her a little plush animal. We went to ice cream and for a walk in a park. We walked, we talked, we laughed. We went back to her place, watched youtube videos, she made dinner. 'The night had to end because she works night shift (sleepover was not expected). She walked me to the door, we did the obligatory "I had a good time. Thank you" bit and then she hugged me. I looked at her and said I haven't done this in a long time. She asked what, I said date. She gave me another hug. I asked for a kiss and got one on the cheek. She said "next time". While I'm celebrating the small victory of just going on a date, I'm a little confused. I really don't know if it was a good date and if there will really be a second. Also, how do I follow up?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
