How to tell if he just wants sex.

So a couple of weeks back I posted about a guy I had a date with. We hit it off, got kind of drunk and had sex. We continued conversation via text after that but I noticed his tone changed and I couldn't tell if it was because he wasn't that into me or if he was just being respectful and not wanting to seem like he just wanted sex.

I asked him out a couple of times and got wishy washy answers, so I just decided to move on and I stopped initiating any texts. I didn't hear from him for about a week and lastnight he texts me around 8pm with a "hey, I've been SO stressed out which is why I've been so distant. What are you doing tonight?" I was immediately suspicious he was trying to get another hookup so I decided to try something. I told him I was going to the gym and then to bed afterwards. He replied with "I'll be up, come and shower at my place, possibly with me!" I replied with "not a good day for that, I'm dealing with female issues if you know what I mean." He says "oh ya, I know what you mean, ewwy!"

And I heard nothing after that. No further convo what so ever haha!!! So now my question is answered because if he didn't only want sex he still would have tried to get together to see me. That was easier than I thought!

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
