Friendship after a one night stand?

So, I met somebody online last week, and it was pretty clear from the start they were just looking for a hook-up. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I rarely pass up a hook-up offer from someone this attractive... Anyway, due to scheduling and work, we weren't able to meet up right away and ended up chatting back and forth for a few days prior to finally meeting.

Once we met up, the experience was altogether quite awkward and the sex was not that great for either person, tbh. I highly doubt I will hear from this person again, regarding another hook-up, and I'm just fine with that.

In the days since we hooked up, however, I've found myself missing this person's conversation and wit. They're smart and funny, and just seem like a genuinely decent and interesting person to talk to. I don't meet people I like to have a conversation with every day, so this is a rarity, for me!

My question is... HOW in the hell would I go about asking this person if they would like to be friends without coming off as insulting or creepy? We have not spoken or texted since the night we hooked up, a few days ago. Should I even make an attempt, or just let it go?
