Online Dating Options Underwhelming...

I started online dating a few months ago.

So far I have been on three dates and I talked with someone on the phone.

All these experiences have been underwhelming. The first guy was very good looking but very immature. Second one offered me a casual relationship and this is a no go for me. Third guy tried getting touchy after like one hour into the date. Fourth guy I spoke to on the phone turned out to be personality wise not what I was looking for at all.

So in my fourth month of online dating, this is where I am at. I live rather rural, but still, there are a lot of guys to potentially match with. However, many of them do not even respond. Of the ones that do respond I often do not feel any chemistry with while chatting. So only a few remain that I actually feel like going on a date with and this is what it has boiled down to so far.

So I have hit a little low in my online dating endeavours. I am still getting new matches, of course as this is how it works, but as I said, some don't message me back, some are not very interesting to talk to or there's a dealbreaker early on.

I am still waiting for that one match with a guy who looks like I could be friends with him. A laid back, sporty, friendly looking guy who has some humour, who is easy to talk to, who makes me smile. None of the matches I get and who start actually talking to me are like that.

Is this normal? Am I doing anything wrong?
