Does marriage counseling actually help?

I feel that it does not help much. Yes, it is another perspective to the relationship, but will it actually help my marriage? I’ve put my wife through so much and she’s always there. For me, when we are “happy” together, all I can think about is how much we bicker at each other and all the flaws about us and her. Then I proceed to tell her I want to leave her. This has happened probably 3-4 times in the past 1.5 years. During the time after I say that all I do is think about the great times we had and all the good aspects about her. I want to leave but I do not. I do not know if I’m just afraid of leaving or what.... I just feel like I’m done with our relationship and I wouldn’t say that I don’t love her anymore but I just don’t feel that we should continue to be together. We have also only been married two years, I feel that we shouldn’t be having this many problems this early in our marriage.
