Is smoking reason for serious conversation?

My hudband smokes around 1/4 of his paycheck every month. We recently had a baby and I dont work. I never had a normal job but I did contribute to the budget and I take care of all cooking and cleaning and the baby. We have money problems and It came to the stage that we cant afford heating in our house even we have a baby. He always become severly iritated when I metion his smoking and he tells me to get a job. But even when I had a job I never spent that much money only on myself. Edit: I already talked to him on multiple ocasions and everytime I turned out to be controling wife. I just wanted to see If I am crazy for not understanding this behaviour. His father is drowbing in depts for years all because of smoking and he refuses to see It.
