Disillusioned by love

I’ve reached a point in my life where I’ve seen, read, and experienced so many situations that have really broken the idealistic view of love I had while growing up. Now, it feels as though I will only be disappointed in love. Interestingly enough, it doesn’t seem as though very many others share the same sentiment as I do. Rather, they‘re still hopeful. And I really wish I could find that hope again, but like innocence lost, I don’t think it’s something I can regain.
