Dating etiquette when you’re not interested

This question has 2 categories:

  1. First date: You don’t click, you don’t want a second date. What do you personally like to say to indicate that you’re not interested, while being polite but also not getting their hopes up?

  2. Dating app, or you exchanged numbers with them: After a little chatting/texting, before you even get a chance to go on a date, you’re no longer interested. What do you do? Do you just go on that first date to be sure, or do you message them before that point? What do you say?

TIA
