what should i do

So I been crushing this girl for like 3 months but because I have never dated anyone before so it's really hard for me to start a conversation with a girl. I tried to make a plan that I will ask her out today since today is the last day of school, since it's an exam day and I already finished my test I told my friends that I will wait outside, whenever she done just text me and I will try to talk to her. But then 30 mins later my friends texted me that he forgot to text me so now I can never see that girl again since college classes have different schedules and all I know is her name and her student email that I got from the school website. Do you guys think that I should email her something like "Hi I'm the guy that borrowed your pencils twice in your math class, I still have your pencils so do you want to get it back?" or something similar to that?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
