If He Acts No Longer Interested... Then Why Invite Me?!

I've (20F) been dating a guy (22M) for 2 months. 1 month into us dating, I asked if he was seeing anyone else. He said he wasn't, but wasn't looking for a relationship ATM. I tried to call it off because we want different things, but he said he still wanted to date me... and so here we are.

I've met his family a few times in casual settings but he wants me to go to his sister's birthday drinks with his whole family, which I do want to attend however I feel like that's a more 'official relationship' type thing to do, so I'm on the fence about it.

Recently his replies have been far and few, with little interest in the conversation from his part imo. He has been liking loads of girls pics online yet taking hours to get back to me - I am worried I'm falling too deep for someome who has lost interest in me, yet whenever we are actually together it goes well?

I'm just confused about the mixed signals and drinks thing, does anyone have advice?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
