Out of the loop!

I (41 F) was in a 9 year relationship, from age 31-40. Now that I am back in the dating field I feel totally out of the loop. Ten years ago men would ask to buy me a drink, would approach me, would initiate conversation. Ten years ago OLD wasn’t as popular and big as it is today. I had to learn all about OLD, I didn’t even know which way to swipe if I liked someone! On top of that I was surprised how much things shifted in real life dating scene. Main questions: Why do men not approach as much? Is OLD to blame? Am I just rusty in my dating skills? Just to note I live in LA and when I wasn’t single all I heard from my single friends was how horrible and fleeting dating is here... I now understand what they are saying now. I’m a bit disheartened about it all honestly.
