First crush on a younger woman.

Well, first things first. I'll be 40 in July. Never been married, no kids (both by choice). My last relationship lasted about 3 and 1/2 years with a woman my age. It ended amicably.

I work as a waiter at a fairly well-known restaurant. I've been doing the job for twenty years. I tried a "real job" for a while, but honestly I make more money serving. I'm friends with everyone, but I never go out drinking or partying with them after work. Here lately I've developed my first crush since my last relationship ended. The only problem is, she's fifteen years younger than me and happens to be my manager. She wasn't my manager when I developed this crush, she got promoted. She's really sweet, relaxed, isn't too concerned with partying nonstop, has a good head on her shoulders, is responsible and attractive. I can't help but feel attracted to her, and I work with a lot of girls even younger than her that flirt with me. I don't flirt back, because it feels weird. But with her, it doesn't feel weird. I haven't told her I'm attracted to her. I haven't even really dropped any hints.

I'm not asking for advice. The chances of us dating are almost nil, and I'm okay with that. I don't like dating women I work with anyway. But it just sucks that for once in a long time I actually kinda feel something for someone and there is no chance. It's not that she's younger... I don't mind dating women my age, but I don't meet a lot of them outside of work. I used to have a crazy nightlife but it's slowed down quite a bit in the past ten years. Anyway, I know she'll never read this, so, Alecia, I like you!
