What do you interpret from when a person tells you he/she is divorced?
Do you think this is just small talk or that he/she is telling you that they are available?
My situation is that an older woman at work told me she was divorced. I sort of read that she's interested in me BUT we all know that "don't dip your pen in the company ink" blah blah. I do think she is pretty although I get the whole co-worker dynamic doesn't always end well. Either way, I want to still be nice and try to make small talk. She brings up her divorce shortly after I ask her about her Mother's Day weekend though it's been 5 years since, so not recent. She doesn't indicate that she has a new boyfriend or anything to deter someone from asking her out, if that makes sense.
I am considering asking her out at least for drinks to see if anything happens but I know it might be tough if I am just misreading things and she's actually trying to be nice too.
