How do I tell if a relationship is genuine?

I'm researching a plan to stay in England indefinitely, and it requires extending a work visa by having a "genuine relationship," not a "sham marriage". I intend to fully comply, after being raised by my parents' marriage, I will never tolerate a toxic marriage. This will be hard because I have hemiplegic migraines and a fearful-avoidant attachment style. Long question, answer if you dare:

• how do I tell if it's genuine, or if I'm just falling for my own would-be marriage sham with some woman with which I've had sex?
• how do I tell if I have feelings for someone, feelings like a crush instead of feelings like deceit or fear of being single?
