UK couple looking for advice about Vegas wedding
My girlfriend (26F) and I (28M) have been together for 4 years this year. We have never really wanted a big wedding. We both hate being in the spotlight so we were thinking about a destination wedding combined with a holiday/honeymoon, so we were thinking about a private wedding with just the two of us in Vegas in the next year or two. We've also discussed it with both of our parents and they know what we are like so they are fine with it. My mom said she kind of expected me to do that. Haha.
I know that we have to apply for a marriage license and we've found a chapel we really like, but as far as planning a wedding we are both pretty clueless. What other things to we need to keep in mind when doing this as I want to make some kind of spreadsheet for how much we need to save up and what the money will be allocated towards etc.
We have seen that you can apply for a marriage license online. Is that a print and bring it with you kind of deal or do you still need to go and collect it in person and show ID.
And and all advice and tips are welcome.
EDIT: I forgot to add that I also plan on changing my surname at some point for unrelated personal reasons to my mother's maiden name. Can this be done at the same time? I'm not sure if my partner's surname can only change to my current surname.
