How do you know someone likes you?

I’m good friends with this guy and he’s so nice and amazing all around. However I feel like sometimes he flirts with me but how do I know if he’s into me? I don’t want to ask because I don’t want anything to be awkward between us and maybe it’s all in my head and he’s just such a nice person . How do you know?
