30F have a date with 30sM on Thursday evening. First date I've had in years. Help!

I work in a downtown area andnwas walking during lunch, and crossed paths with a really handsome guy. He ended up coming back my way to catch up with me, and gave me his number and asked if we could go out sometime. I said yes and when I got back to work I texted him and said "Hi! It's Haleyscomet67. Now you have my number, too!"

He responded a little bit later and asked when I was free this week. Due to my schedule with my son and my ex husband, and work, I only have Thursday night available (or lunch during the workday).

So I told him we could do lunch either tomorrow or Friday, or get together Thursday evening after work. He went for Thursday and suggested a local bar. I told him that sounded good to me. He said "im looking forward to seeinf you again" and i replied that i was looking forward to seeing him again too. He didn't respond after that, which makes sense.

I thought about asking him some questions about himseld over text, but I thought it wpuld be more fun to save that for the first date. But i also dont want him to think im not that interested if i dont engage. Idk how these things work anymore! Should I text him again or wait until Wednesday night and double check plans? I was thinking about texting him and seeing if he wants to grab a quick coffee with me before work tomorrow and get pre-first date jitters out early...but then maybe that is too over eager?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
