Match bursts / clustering, men perspective

Hi,

34M, living 0.5 million city in Europe, with about 1 million people in the metro, and also quite a bit of turists / visitors.

Over the years on online dating platforms, I noticed very strange phenomenon. I would have no matches or any meaningful conversation for months, then suddenly, out of the blue I will have 3 matches at the same day or on almost the same day, and all girls would appear interested in actual conversation, have great profiles, etc. This happens without any changes in my profiles, apparent swiping pattern or often without taking any break from swiping. It does happen between dating platforms, i.e. I will match different girl on 3 different apps. I expirienced it at least 6 times (possibly more tho) in the last ~6 years.

I will ignore the struggle to try to not let any of them down, and trying to appear interested when I match with few people (I am sure women do it all the time). My inquire is about something else.

But, was anybody else expirienced it? Is there some research or data to support this phenomenon and explanations? I just start to believe it almost have something to do with weather or something. Or it is just some form of cognitive bias, random process or what?
