Is it normal to feel hot and cold about a person after several months?

The short story is that I was emotionally and sexually dead inside for five years after last breakup. Sort of started feeling into a guy that I was friends with and he felt the same so we dove in. It was fun and sexy and spontaneous the first couple weeks, then kind of leveled off when we kept having conversations about NOT being too much too soon. And I still want to hang with him, but the past couple times we’ve hung out, I’ve just felt nothing, like really cold. Not even two weeks ago, it was all good and sweet and I had all the happy feels. Are these just normal growing pains where the excitement and passion comes and goes or is this a sure fire sign that I should move on?
