I was “that girl” today

I encountered a guy through OLD, we exchanged numbers, and we made plans. Hours before our date, I reached out and canceled; I just didn’t want to go out.

I’ve met up with dozens of men through OLD — so it wasn’t nerves or anxiety — but, as I have gotten older and my life has become busier, I’ve become ambivalent about dating. The problem is that it’s tough to detect that “spark” online, but first dates just seem to be an investment on which I’m getting no returns.

I hate to be that girl who just vaguely cancels a date and wishes you well, but I also don’t want to be that girl who is obviously disinterested on a first date.

I’ve taken almost a year off from dating (since I ended my last LTR), and I’m wondering if I just need more time.
